TREVOR RICHARDS

Trevor was the former Head Coach of Central Washington women’s rugby until former Husker Matt Ramirez took over the position in 2018. The South African native also served as the men’s graduate assistant and backs coach from September 2016 to May 2018.

Before CWU, Richards spent a year in San Diego as a skills coach at the Institute of Rugby, as well as, a backs coach for the Encinitas Coastal Dragons, where he worked with all levels of teams. Richards worked under former USA 7s captain and coach, Matt Hawkins and former USA Eagle Hannah Lockwood.

Prior to the Institute of Rugby, Richards was an assistant coach for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Men’s Team from August 2014 to May 2015. There he was in charge of the back-line and general skill development of the team. This was Richards’ second stint coaching at his alma mater, where he had previously been an assistant coach from August 2010 to October 2011.

As a player at Nebraska, Richards was a Collegiate All-American in 7s and was in the USA 7s National Team Player Pool for the 2009-‘10 season. The highlight coming with a tour to Fiji where he represented the USA in competition

We invite this community to help list those former coaches who volunteered their time, talent, and oftentimes, their treasure, to ensure the UNL students could play this great sport.  The entire UNL rugby community thanks you for going up and beyond the call of duty!
