PHIL MURPHY
Former UNL rugby coach Phil “Murph” Murphy, coached the UNL squad between 1996-’98. It was during that time that his squad won a variety of tournaments and placed third in the Western Conference final. As a player, he received All-Marine and All-Combined Services 15’s accolades as a back-row and loose forward . His hard-nosed mentality most certainly left an impression on many that played for him, especially those at Nebraska.
Murph is vice president of business development at Kaman Precision and Kaman Air Vehicles. He and his wife Lisa live in Orlando and have two daughters in college, one of which plays for the Women’s team for the Seattle Rugby Club.
