CHRIS FORD

Chris Ford (Fordy) joined the UNL rugby team for only one season in 1997 after finishing his career with the Husker Swim Team. He was brought to Lincoln from his native Sydney, Australia on that swimming scholarship. Finally able to play his first love sport of rugby again, he went on to play with a couple of notable Huskers at the Seattle Rugby Club before returning home and playing with Sydney suburban club, Brothers, where he played 200+ games. His highest achievements in rugby came, though, as a referee after finally heeding the advice to “try it if you think you know better” from yet another exasperated official. Ford officiated men’s premiership rugby in Toronto, D1 college and D1 club in the US and various levels including AR for the Oceania World Cup 7s qualifiers in Australia.

He has moved back stateside and currently resides in New York City with his wife, where they have founded a growing legal technology company and have two kids.
