Brian “Chico” Cichello
Brian (most likely known as Chico), picked up the rugby ball at K-State in 1988 after a brief stint on the KSU football team, and never looked back. He transferred to UNL, joined the team in the spring of 1991, and played until graduating in 1994 with a degree in construction management. He was president of the club during the 1993 -’94 seasons and would later travel to New Zealand during the summer of ‘94 with fellow UNL teammate, Bart Furrow, where they played a season with the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.
After returning stateside, he moved to Kansas City and played with KCRFC for 12 years. He served as President of that club from 2001-04, received the Robert Rinehart Award in 2012, and was inducted into the KCRFC Hall of Fame in 2022. He currently serves as the VP of Rugby Operations where he has been responsible for the huge up-tick in Alumni participation and match-day activities. Brian and his beautiful wife Jan, have two boys Graham, a junior at MIZZOU and Owen a senior at Rockhurst High School where he is starting his fourth year of high school rugby.
