JUDD DAVIS

A fly half in rugby acts like a general of sorts on the field and controls the direction of the game.  This description fits Judd Davis to a tee as he combined his leadership, astute thinking and athletic background of soccer and swimming successfully into this vital position between 1995 – ’99.

Judd, who is originally from South Sioux, NE was instrumental in creating a pseudo rugby “pipeline” between his hometown and Lincoln.  By one count, at least six athletes were introduced to the game through him and played at Nebraska during the mid-to-late 90’s, not to mention the numerous loyal supporters from SSC that would turn up at the pitch and the post-game gatherings.

In fact, Judd was one of the co-originators of a widely successful charity game versus The University of South Dakota that was played to large crowds on the SSC high school field during the spring of 1999.  He survived two years in the E Street rugby house, toured with the squad in the Bahamas and Jamaica, and rarely misses an opportunity to “forget” his boots for the annual alumni rugby match.

He and his wife Johnna live in the Kansas City area where he is a real estate attorney for a utility scale solar developer and they enjoy cheering on their son Grey in youth rugby.
